This festive craft activity is a perfect diversion to keep your kids happy through the Christmas holidays
Get your supplies!
You will need:
Stay Anywhere Permanent Pens
Craft Glue
Sizzle Scissors
Green Foam
Craft pom poms
Step 1: Sketch!
Use a pen to sketch out the outline of the tree, on craft foam as shown here. Make sure to include a strip at the bottom of the tree. Repeat the process, but this time include a strip at the top of the tree.
Step 2: Cut!
Cut your two Christmas trees out of foam using a craft knife or a sharp pair of scissors. Young children should ask an adult for help
Step 3: Layout your trees!
You should now have two foam Christmas trees in 2D, one with a wedge at the top, one with a wedge at the bottom.
Step 4: Interlock Pieces!
Use the wedges cut into each section of the tree to interlock them, leaving you with one 3D foam Christmas tree.
Step 5: Stars!
Cut a star out of bright yellow craft foam to put at the top of the tree. Use your imagination to think of any other decorations you want and cut them out of brightly coloured craft foam. You might try baubles, lights, little angels - let your imagination run wild!
Step 6: Glue!
Use craft glue to attached your your craft ornaments to your Christmas tree. Decorate it all over with pom poms, and finish the the big gold star at the top of the tree. Congratulations! Your craft Christmas tree is complete!
