Get ready for Halloween with these self-standing paper plate pumpkins! They are super easy to make and are the perfect seasonal decoration to add to your home.

You will need:
Micador Acrylic Paint Packs - Primary
Micador jR. Create It Art Pad - Two ColourMagic, A4
Micador jR. Safe Scissors
Micador Colourfun Brush - Flat
Plain paper plates (one pumpkin requires 2 plates)
Glue stick or craft glue for a stronger hold
Step 1: Paint!
Mix the red and yellow paint from the Micador Acrylic Paint Pack to create a bright orange colour. Use this colour and a Micador Colourfun Brush to paint the paper plates. Keep in mind that each pumpkin is made from 2 paper plates.
Step 2: Cut!
Using our Micador jR. Safe Scissors, cut off a few centimetres from the bottom of the paper plates. This step may require the help of an adult as this cut needs to be as straight as possible. For assistance, try using a ruler to mark a line first before cutting. To ensure the second plate has the same cut, place the first plate over the second and cut using the first plate as a guide.
Step 3: Glue!
Cut out a stalk and a leaf from some coloured paper and glue both onto the inside of one of the plates. Spread the glue around the inside edges of the paper plates and then press them together around the edges. While the glue dries, use paperclips or pegs to hold the edges of the plates together.
Step 4: Decorate
Time to add some creepy jack-o'-lantern faces! Draw eyes, a nose and a mouth on some black paper and cut them out. Glue these pieces onto one side of the paper plates. These paper plate pumpkins are now ready to be put on display! During the painting process the paper plates may have flattened a little and may not stand up perfectly. Or maybe you cut the plates a little wonky. If this is the case, scrunch up a ball of scrap paper and place it in between the two glued paper plates at the pumpkin's base. This will help it stand up on its own!
