Step 1: Draw!
Use a graphite pencil to draw rectangles for the decorative strips. Our strips measure 14cm x 6cm. You can also print out the template above to use instead.
Step 2: Decorate!
Use the brush markers to create colourful Christmas themed patterns within each rectangle. Use the fine tip marker end for detail work and the brush tip for thicker lines. It’s okay to draw outside the rectangular boxes as we will be trimming the shapes in the next step. We have drawn some Christmas coloured stripes, a holly pattern and some colourful waves within our boxes.
Step 3: Cut!
Trim along the pencil lines and cut out each of your rectangles. You will also need to fold the cardboard toilet rolls. To do this, fold each roll in half then pop them back into shape. Fold the open edges of each side of the roll over the top of each other to create a ‘U’ shape. You will be able to open and close this area to add or remove your party favours.
Step 4: Wrap!
Wrap your patterned rectangles around the cardboard rolls. Secure each piece of paper with some tape where the edges overlap. Open each parcel and add your party favour. Lastly, decorate each box with a piece of ribbon!
