Get your supplies!

You will need:

  • Micador Achiever Brush Pack of 3 -FSC 100%

  • Acrylic Paint - 100ml tubes

  • Micador Sizzle Scissors

  • Micador wooden rulers

  • PVA Glue

  • Twine

  • Pins

  • Magnet Strip

  • Matchsticks

Step 1: Paint!

Place your ruler down so that the set of numbers with the least markings is at the top. Use masking tape to cover the numbers along the top edge, then paint the bottom with white acrylic paint. You may need two coats. Leave the paint to dry.

Step 2: Attach

Remove the masking tape. Run some craft glue on the front and back of the ruler from the left edge to the .5cm mark. Starting on the back, wrap your twine around the ruler up to this point and finish on the back. You can use a peg to secure the ends while the glue dries. Do the same on the opposite end of the ruler between the 25.5cm mark and the right hand edge.

Step 3: Pin!

Use your push pins to mark each number from 1 to 25. They fit best when placed in a zigzag pattern. Place a dot of craft glue at the base of each pin to add a little extra strength.

Step 4: Add the twine!

When the glue is dry, cut 25 lengths of twine, keep some short and make others long. With your first piece of twine, tie a knot around one end of your lolly wrapper and tie the other end around the first push pin. Repeat this process using your different lengths of twine and lollies until all 25 are done.

Step 5: Glue magnets!

Turn the ruler over and glue magnets down along the length of the entire ruler between the twine.

Step 6: Arrow!

Use a green matchstick (or paint one any colour you like), then cut into three pieces and glue into an arrow shape, pointing to Christmas Day!

Step 7: Hang!

Now all you need to do is find some space on the fridge.
