Embracing Giving Back on #GivingTuesday

GivingTuesday is a global movement created in 2012 with the sole mission to encourage people to do good. Over the years, this independent non-profit crusade has encouraged hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. Reimagining a world built on humanity and kindness, the network collaborates to inspire generosity worldwide, with the aim of making it a part of everyday life.

At Micador, caring for the community is part of our DNA, so celebrating GivingTuesday is a great way for us to share how we care. We give to those in need because we believe in making a real difference and giving back. It hasn’t been a strategic move, it’s just the kind of people we are.

To Celebrate GivingTuesday, We’re Taking You on Our Journey to Becoming Australia’s Most Caring Brand.

Mirabel Foundation

Micador has been involved with the Mirabel Foundation for over 20 years, donating products to children who have been abandoned due to parental illicit drug use. Our products are used in grief therapy, where children who may not necessarily be able to talk about what had happened, can draw it and then talk about their drawings. Art is used as a way for children to express themselves and it’s important for them to have a creative outlet to tell their story or to convey their feelings.

Micador is proud to donate $5 from every online order to the Mirabel Foundation. We do this 24/7, 365 days a year.

This year Micador is also supporting the Mirabel Christmas parties for children and their carers by donating 5,500 units of products for presents and prizes.

It started small, but Micador is now heavily involved in the Mirabel Foundation, as is the Owner of Micador, Ben Dortimer, who has been the Chairman of Mirabel since 2014.

Winc Fundraiser for Charity

Micador recently donated products valued at $1,000 to a Winc Fundraiser supporting the Pauline E McLeod Foundation.

As a member of the Stolen Generations, Pauline’s early life was marked by challenges, but her determination to foster healing, understanding, and acceptance left an enduring impact.

The Foundation was set up to focus on supporting a wide range of First Nation causes that were close to Pauline’s heart, including:

  • Mental Health Support: Promoting emotional well-being within First Nations communities.

  • Skills Development: Empowering young Indigenous Australians to thrive in their chosen paths.

  • Education and Employment: Creating opportunities for meaningful growth and career development.

Micador believes in using creativity as a force for positive change. We are honoured to play a part in continuing Pauline’s legacy and nurturing young minds through art, education, and community initiatives.
